Wegovy pill cost in 2026: what you actually pay
The Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide) was FDA-approved for weight management in December 2025 — the first oral GLP-1 from Novo Nordisk. If you prefer not to inject, it's now a real option. Here's what it costs, without the fine print.
NovoCare self-pay pricing, by dose band
Novo Nordisk sells the pill directly to self-pay patients through NovoCare:
- $149/month — starting doses
- $199/month — mid dose band
- $299/month — higher dose band
You pay NovoCare directly. No insurance required, no pharmacy markup — it's the manufacturer's own channel.
How the pen compares
For reference, the injectable Wegovy pen runs $199/month for the first two fills, then $349/month through NovoCare. The pill is the oral form of the same active ingredient (semaglutide); dosing and titration differ, which your clinician walks through at your check-in.
What a care program adds
Medication is one line. Care is the other. LighterMe's program fee is $149/month for founding members, locked for 12 months:
- Monthly 1:1 video check-in with your dedicated clinician
- Unlimited messaging between check-ins
- Baseline labs reviewed before your first prescription
- Dose-by-dose tracking, side-effect support, refill coordination
All-in at a starting dose: $149 (pill) + $149 (program) = $298/month, one clear number.
Frequently asked
Is the Wegovy pill the same drug as the pen?
Same active ingredient, semaglutide, in an oral form approved for weight management. Dosing, titration schedule, and how it's taken differ — that's a clinician conversation, not a Google decision.
Do I pay LighterMe for the pill too?
No. You pay NovoCare directly for the medication, and LighterMe only for the program. The pharmacy transaction never touches our systems.
What if my dose goes up?
You move to the next NovoCare dose band. Your clinician reviews the change with you at your monthly check-in.
